Main Stem Series - 6wt IM6 Classic Graphite
The 9’ 6wt is a smooth caster with a powerful attitude. Don't let the "all-rounder" moniker fool you, this taper has charm to. It can deal with most weather conditions, streamers, double nymphs, indicator rigs and pretty much any freshwater technique you would care to use.
Gives you the edge on those larger waters where you may need to cover a bit more water. More than capable of dealing with any fish you are likely to find on the river. One rod to rule them all. Removable rubber fight butt included. Rod bag & tube included.
True to weight
A true to weight 6wt (158grain-190grain line), that has enough backbone to be up-lined for 210grain floating lines (perfect for light mousing, hopper+droppers, and streamer+droppers... just saying ;) But, don't fear our Steffen Bros 7wt for bigger game with still room for fun factor!
Graphite
The new Steffen graphite, has taken the classic Steffen tapers and adapted them to modern IM6 graphite cloth and resin. This results in a super smooth progressive designs with lighter swing weight, more responsive feel, with a faster recovery.
Taper
The heart of the graphite series is the classic Steffen taper. It is such a joy to cast. Now, paired with the new material, it feels modern, almost timeless, classically elegant yet fresh and exciting. These new rods, and blanks set a new benchmark in the evolution of Steffen Brothers products.
Models
I will say this with 100% confidence, these rods craftsmanship and attention to detail is far superior to that of anything you can buy in most fly shops these days, simply stunning.
Your 7wt is great! I can’t believe how smooth and accurate the delivery is. What fun!
My Steffen Bros rod is my favorite trout rod now. Even replaced my expensive Winston rod. It is light, powerful and has the pleasure of grace when catching a fish. I often praise it to others and believe that Steffen Brother's brand will have a bright future
A true medium-fast action, a deep flex profile, a sensitive tip to protect light tippet, elegant presentation, and a backbone to fight larger fish all combine to make the new Steffen Bros rods a truly impressive tool
When I worked at a fly shop, I loved to bring in the rods that I built to show to my co-workers or to nail down the best fly line. Steffen Bros rods were always the favorite among the guys.
