"Mark Steffen, IMHO, makes the finest, best priced glass rods available. He buys the fiberglass cloth, of course, but then he rolls his own blanks on his own mandrels. You can buy a finished rod from Steffen Rod Co, or buy a blank to have someone else build a rod on it, or build one on it yourself.

 

Mark, has been making blanks for many, many years. Steffen rods are not the most expensive, but, again IMHO, they are as fine as any glass rods made. I own three of them. Steffen Brothers Fly Rods, IMHO, makes the finest glass rods available. They buy proprietary fiberglass cloth, of course, but then they roll their own blanks on their own in-house mandrels. They are as fine as glass rods made. I own three of them."
